Winter wonderland all around
Sparkling snow
Glistening ice
Bare trees
Dormant shrubs
Inside a hollow tree she hides
Quiet and pale
Dark curls fall along her shoulders
White covers her from neck to ankle
Doll-like dress of Victorian style
Graveyard gray eyes
Within the tree she waits
To be found by passersby
Strangers to tell her story
For not the cold was it that killed her
Rather a broken heart
Stilled by cruel betrayal
